An Event That I Remember The Most

The event that I remember the most was my first Yamaha music ensemble concert last September 5th 2008 at Toa Payoh West Community Centre hall. There were seven of us, one girl and the rest are boys. We wore jeans and colorful T-shirts for the concert. We looked cool!

My classmates and I performed two songs: Fur Elise by Beethoven and Mazurka by Chopin on different musical instruments like electone, bass drum, cymbals, xylophones, clavinova and other percussion instrument. For Mazurka song, I played the bass drum and the castanet, and for Fur Elise song, I performed on the electone.

Since this was our first performance on stage, our class felt very nervous. My teacher, Mrs. Tea said that we did not show a lot of energy and smile enough during the performance. However, overall we did quite well. I am sure we will do better the next time. My whole family including my aunty watched the whole performance. They said they enjoyed the show very much.

A Learning Journey To Changi Airport

Two weeks ago, our teacher, Mr. Yazid, took us to Singapore Changi Airport. When we got to terminal 2, Mr. Yazid gave us a digital camera so we could take pictures there. First, we went to the departure hall .
We saw different airlines ticket counters and passengers queuing up to check in their luggages.

I interviewed some people on their occupations. The first person I interviewed was a post office employee. I asked him 3 questions. Then we took the Sky train to terminal 3. We went to the departure hall in terminal 3 and I interviewed an usher. That was the second person I interviewed. At last, Mr. Yazid brought us to the basement for our recess. The basement was spacious. The basement also has a food court and a supermarket. After me and my classmate, Weng Yee, finished the recess, we went and interviewed a waitress in 'Secret Recipe'. Then, Mr. Yazid showed us around the basement. Then, we waited for the bus and went back to school. I had a wonderful time at Changi Airport .

A Trip To Medan, Indonesia

On June 15th, 2008, my family and I went to Medan,Indonesia to visit my grandparents and my uncle's family. I was very excited because my grandma has eleven Pomeranian dogs that I can play with and I have my two cousins.

We took Jetstar airplane from terminal 2 to Medan. The flight took us about 1 hour. When we reached Polonia airport in Medan,my grandparents picked us up and they were happy to see us.

Everyday, we play in my grandma's garden with the dogs. My favourite dogs are 'Windoe' and 'Frosti'. They are very cute and adorable. All the dogs loved the doggy biscuits that I brought from Singapore

One day, our grandparents took us to an amusement park called 'Hillpark'. 'Hillpark' is an amusement park near the mountain. It takes 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach there by car. I played bumper-car, dizzy swing, ride on a boat and others. They also have a roller coaster, but I skipped that game. There is also a small animal park. There are turtles, ducks, rabbits, deers and horses. This is a picture of me trying to feed one of the turtles over there. I did not get to see the gooses.

The Other day, we went to 'Timezone' inside the mall. At 'Timezone', there were a lot of games to play with. I played mini- basket ball, video games and others. If we scored well in the game, some small cards would come out from the slot. If we had many cards, we could exchange them with some toys. But, I didn't have many cards.

The day before we returned to Singapore, my father and I went to the barber shop. We cut our hair there. We took a machine Trishaw or 'becak' in Indonesian back to my grandparents home. This Trishaw is like a combination of a motorcycle and a tricycle.

The day we went home was a very sad day. But I enjoyed myself very much. I promise that I will go back to Indonesia again.
